 As if you thought this guy couldnt make another club banging, heart pounding mixtape…He did. And he didn’t just “bring the noise”…he fucking created the noise.

Including everything from LMFAO to The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Linkin Park to Uptown Girl by Billy Joel and even throwing in a super saucy ”Pretty woman” track. DJ Eric Draven is on Fire, and he knows it. Releasing the “Talk of Orlando” mixtape last month which has (at this point) over 40,000 downloads.

I figured if I wanted to write this nonsense I better do it quickly before dLux and Draven drop their mixtapes this week, as I know they will want the top blog spot on the website. I know this may be a little off topic, actually, it kind of pertains to nightlife news, because there is a very high probability that I will be looking like a douchebag as I frolic from club to club.

 

I have always wanted to grow a beard. I made a half ass attempt at it toward the end of my Firestone days, but then I woke up early one day and shaved it off. It was getting itchy and annoying, and in a half asleep morning daze I shaved it off, forgetting that I was actually trying to grow a beard. Well if I have it my way, this summer the beard will return. Here is the ultimate goal:

 

 Tommie Sunshine, beard genius.

 

Ok, maybe not the long hair. Do ladies find any sort of sexual appeal in a beard? So far I have gotten mixed reviews, but I am willing to give it a shot. If anything I just want to have some facebook pictures looking like the one above, or even better this:

 

 Joaquin Phoenix, beardo.

According to some online forums I have read, “Beards are very “in” right now.”, and everyone knows how important it is for me to be “in” (see Defame: Orlando’s scene confusion blog). Nothing screams emotional stability like a neck beard, not to mention some men are recognized nearly as much for their beards as they are their accomplishments (Lincoln, ZZ Top, Rick Rubin). Now the real question here is if I grow this Joaquin Phoenix-esq beard, will I have to sport those stylish sunglasses and the skinny neck tie as well? I mean, look at how well this beardo has worked for this man:

  I am officially sold. Ok, so now the hard part. Which style beard shall I choose?

 

1. “The Gordon Fisherman”

 All out, uncontrolled pile of hair. Sported by Hemingway, Grizzly Adams, Paul Gasol, Gilbert, and most homeless guys.

 

 

2. “The Timberlake”

 A closely groomed, sexy look. Sported by Justin Timberlake, George Clooney, Jake Gyllenhaal.

 

 

3. “The Original ’stache”

 Most don’t believe this should be allowed to be sported at all, anywhere, unless the person has lost a bet. Exceptions include Fred Goldman, Tom Selleck, Freddie Mercury, and most importantly Geraldo Rivera.

 

4. “The Trucker”

 A personal favorite, a Play-Off beard gone wrong, only for Badass Mofo’s. Inspired by James Hetfield and Hulk Hogan.

 

I am leaning toward “The Gordon Fisherman”, what do you think?

FYI for all my iPhoners, if this happens to you, you have 2 options:

1. Take it to a random tech-savy cell phone repair guy around town and get it fixed for anywhere around $100-$150

2. Get completely fucked in the ass by Apple and have them fix it for $200

I myself chose the second option and don’t get it twisted, they merely replace the screen, you don’t get a new phone even though the new 2 year contract price is $200, the retail price of these phones is $399 and $499. So yeah FML and moving along…

 

THIS GUY is back in town tonight…

That’s right, Kid Millionaire is back in Orlando. If you were lucky enough to catch his set last year then you KNOW this is going be serious. After I saw his set last year he inspired me to not just be a DJ during sets, but to actually be a showman. Aoki doesn’t just play records and watch the crowd react, he reacts WITH you. If you ever caught any of my ‘crunk hour’ sets during the now infamous “Shit Show Saturdays” at (what was) Octagon you can see how he rubbed off on me.

 

Now let’s go to some music news, shall we?

Britney Spears stopped her concert in Vancouver recently because of the beautiful aroma of (legal) marijuana was in the air.

 

Come on!!! You’re going to charge that much for tickets and get mad cause people are on some feel good shit? Aren’t you the chain smoking Mom in every tabloid?

That’s what I thought. Nice try Britney.

 

In Billboard chart news…

Rick Ross has the #1 album in the country with Deeper Than Rap selling 158,000 copies in the first week.

Meanwhile DEFAME: Orlando’s new favorite rapper, Asher Roth, sold 62,000 to put him at #5. Pretty much everything else on the charts doesn’t matter.

I already put you guys on to the (fucking amazing) Kid Cudi mixtape last week, well this week we are going back to the trap with Gucci Mane. The Empire, the people responsible for the highly successful ‘Drought is Over’ series with Lil’ Wayne are back at it with GUCCIMANIA (brother).
