Verizon iPhone by Christmas?

Posted by dLux On August - 8 - 2010

vMacRumors.com is reporting that Apple is possibly looking to finally break free of AT&Ts exclusive contract for the hottest phone in the land (yeah I said it) the iPhone. It is rumored that Apple has put a large order in for CDMA based chips (which is what Verizon phones run on, as opposed to SIM based phones that AT&T and T-Mobile run on) and that it could possibly mean that we will see the phone of all phones on Verizon as early as Christmas.

What does this mean for AT&T? Do you think people will flock to Verizon and cancel their current plans? Doubtful. Verizons call network is much stronger and better but they also lack a strong data network which is essential for an avid iPhoner such as myself or anyone else really. I’ve done a side by side comparison of YouTube links, one with my old iPhone 3G and the other with a Blackberry Storm and it was quite painful on how long you had to wait for the video to upload on the Storm. But then again, maybe I am just a biased asshole.

Will you switch to Verizon if it shows up? I don’t even think its a question on if current Verizon users will switch to it or not, it’s just a matter of when. Blackberrys are clearly losing their appeal with the general public.
