FYI for all my iPhoners, if this happens to you, you have 2 options:

1. Take it to a random tech-savy cell phone repair guy around town and get it fixed for anywhere around $100-$150

2. Get completely fucked in the ass by Apple and have them fix it for $200

I myself chose the second option and don’t get it twisted, they merely replace the screen, you don’t get a new phone even though the new 2 year contract price is $200, the retail price of these phones is $399 and $499. So yeah FML and moving along…

 

THIS GUY is back in town tonight…

That’s right, Kid Millionaire is back in Orlando. If you were lucky enough to catch his set last year then you KNOW this is going be serious. After I saw his set last year he inspired me to not just be a DJ during sets, but to actually be a showman. Aoki doesn’t just play records and watch the crowd react, he reacts WITH you. If you ever caught any of my ‘crunk hour’ sets during the now infamous “Shit Show Saturdays” at (what was) Octagon you can see how he rubbed off on me.

In Billboard chart news…

Rick Ross has the #1 album in the country with Deeper Than Rap selling 158,000 copies in the first week.

Meanwhile DEFAME: Orlando’s new favorite rapper, Asher Roth, sold 62,000 to put him at #5. Pretty much everything else on the charts doesn’t matter.

I already put you guys on to the (fucking amazing) Kid Cudi mixtape last week, well this week we are going back to the trap with Gucci Mane. The Empire, the people responsible for the highly successful ‘Drought is Over’ series with Lil’ Wayne are back at it with GUCCIMANIA (brother).

I want to start this off by clarifying that I am not hating on shot girls. Shit, if I looked that good I would be one, too. But I will say that there is a way to go about being a classy (the real definition of ‘classy’, not ‘OCC classy’) shot girl…unfortunately, there are some ladies who have yet to be informed.


Signs you didn’t get the memo:

• Your ass looks hungry. By that I mean you have a wedgie so severe it looks like it might need to be surgically removed.
• You’ve given body shots to multiple guys…with only seconds between customers. (Dear nameless dude, I know you saw the guy before you lick and slobber over the exact area that your tongue is currently perusing.  I’m grossed out for you.)
• You put the shot in YOUR mouth, swished it like you were fighting plaque and then proceeded to SPIT the shot into some random dude’s mouth.

I know you’re just doing your job… just keep in mind that the ladies of OBT could say the same.

As many of you know if you have come hang out with myself or King Kong for any extended about of time, we are very avid weed entusiasts. I won’t really be celebrating too much differently than any other day because I smoke probably more than a normal person as it is. I look at today as more of a day for people who DON’T smoke to actually take advantage today of what you are missing out on every other day of the year (Docta Dawe, Kaypee).

Today is a very special day for music. After you picked up that bag of chronic (no regs today, please) the only thing you’re missing is going to Best Buy and picking up this CD for $9.99

I know I posted something about this CD coming out about a month ago but it is finally here and I’m just going to say it right now, as a extreamly critical fan of hip-hop and music in general, that this is by far the BEST album of the year (if not one of the best and most influential releases of our generation, no bullshit) and actually worth a purchase and not just a download. I myself will actually be purchasing this CD and it will be my first CD I have actually bought since Tha Carter III.

Asher Roth is signed to SRC (formerly Loud Records) which is Steve Rifkinds label. Rifkind is responsible for discovering a little known act from Staten Island consisting of 9 of the illest MCs known as the Wu-Tang Clan and he is also responsible for getting 2 teenagers from Queens Bridge signed who would be known as Mobb Deep.

If I didn’t have such an insane weekend (see: pool party pics) I would have made a 4:20 mixtape like I have been talking about doing for years, instead I will leave you with some of my favorite smoking songs and I ask you to comment and add in some songs you like to listen to when you are rolling up that good.

No, but seriously. This is not the beginning of anything. The beginning happened hours ago and most likely ended (hopefully) at least 45 minutes after that. So I prepared a little list of how-to’s and don’t-you-fucking-dare’s for those of you who just don’t get it. Kinda like a little “shoulda-had-a-V8″ bonk to the forehead…but less physical.

We’ve ALL been there. I don’t care if you’re too shy to admit it or if you’re “saving it for marriage” (which is a whooooole separate topic).

It’s not always with a swamp creature, but (unfortunately for you and your need for a sober fairy godmother or an AA meeting or maybe even an intervention) it has been a time or two (or more? Ugh.) before. I’ve been pretty fortunate, but I have heard some HORROR stories from some of my comrads over a few adult beverages. They always start off a little something like this…

So you’ve been drinking…and accross the bar/party/parking lot you see a little somethin’-somethin’, and you like what you see. You lay some groundwork… and then bada-bing, bada-boom it’s “your place, or mine?”

During sex…

• Do not ask if I “like that.” If you can’t tell, chances are there’s a reason. Don’t make me lie.

Fast forward to after the sex…if it’s not time for more sex, it’s sleepy time.

• No, you can’t sleep on my side of the bed. I’m still trying to figure out why you’re sleeping here at all…
• You’re snoring. AREYOUFUCKINGKIDDINGME, guy?! How the hell am I supposed to sleep when you’re conducting the nasal cavity symphony in B minor not even a foot from my face!?
• You’re touching me. I’m trying to sleep. Stop that.
• Again…I’m trying to sleep and you want to play get-to-know-ya games. Why? Do you like wasting your time?? Let’s be serious…tomorrow you will be nothing more than “what’s-his-face.” If anything you will be dubbed an unfortunate and unflattering nick-name (See: Inky-Binky-Winky) that my friends and I will reference for a good laugh.
• You’re a kicker or toss-and-turn-er. Seriously, leave. NOW. Before I let the thought of smothering you with a pillow cross my mind…AGAIN.

Fast forward to sunrise… Don’t overstay your welcome.

• The sun’s up and you’re not…why?
• I’m serious…it’s now 10 A.M. …DOUBLE DIGITS!!! Don’t you have somewhere else to be?
• Your exit should be as mysterious as possible. I want to wake up and think I had sex with Houdini.
• NO, I WILL NOT MAKE OUT WITH YOU. One word: MORNINGBREATH (Yes, that can be one word…if given the right emphasis.)
• DO NOT LINGER.
• Get your belongings and go. Do not start small talk. I don’t care that you are super excited to go fishing/camping/clubbing/visit your family next weekend.
• Speaking of belonings, don’t leave anything behind. I don’t need a memento.
• Don’t leave evidence. Hickeys are for middle-schoolers who make-out in a movie theatre that their parents dropped them off at on a Friday night. If I have a hickey and I don’t know about it yet…RUN.

Bobby Rifo and DJ Tommy Tea seem to be doing something right. If you don’t know these guys, they are the duo of musicians that make up The Bloody Beetroots.

 When I was leaving UMF 11 on the first day I watched The Bloody Beetroots play a small set on the Biscayne stage.  It was by far one of the best sets of the night, I have to say it was a hell of a lot better than Deadmau5 7 minute set on the main stage. ( I also have to point out Deadmau5 set on day 2 blew everything away) but enough about UMF…

 They bring the hype of a rock show, together with the insanity, rhythm, and bass of a club scene all in one performance. Bobby Rifo specifically has a deep musical background listening to classical, new wave , and punk to name a few genres. This is where it all started for Bob. Only recently has The Bloody Beetroots moved on to a real drum and bass, or electro feel. Their remixes and tracks are only getting better , I think they deserve a listen.

 In 2007 after other groups (MSTRKRFT, Justice, etc) started to notice that The Bloody Beetroots had a lot to offer, things only got better from there. Plain and simple, they are making a reputation for themselves. As soon as Steve Aoki saw them perform, he signed them to his own Dim Mak label here in the states.
