A funny thing has been happening lately. My comments have stopped showing up right away. So I’m look around the site to assess the problem and I think to myself, hmmm, maybe I’m being moderated.
“How can I be moderated, if I’m an admin?” I ask myself. And then it dawns on me, I just recently had to add dLux back to admin status because another admin decided they didn’t like his post. They made dLux a plain ol’ author.
I sign onto OCC.com and I’m looking around, searching for clues. I found them. Now, this is still an assessment, but I think I have been demoted.
Let’s talk about this for a second. I vaguely remember, just vaguely remember, that the last time someone became a blog nazi, changing something of this caliber in an effort to censor, we at occ.com vowed that we would stand true to the 1st amendment. How quickly we forget…
I will stress that this is only speculation. Just know this, if I am right and you are the same person who changed dLux’s status, I know who you are and I know where you sleep. If you are not the same person, the odds are against you because there exists only a handful of admins on this site. Let this stand as a warning to you. You know me personally, so I’m sure you know I am crazy. You can take your chances, or you can make me an admin again. Choose wisely.

The sudden closing of TD’s Sports Bar & Grill and the swift opening shortly after for Knight Lights in that space piqued my curiosity last week. Supposedly there had been a grand renovation inside, to accommodate the type of bar UCF students deserve — whatever that means. Yeah, not so much. When I stopped by Knight Lights last Friday night I felt like I was having d�j� vu: Only the name had changed. Same incompetent bartender too busy texting his friend at the other side of the bar to be bothered to get anybody’s order. The same d�cor; the same wet, dirty bar top; same sticky floor; and the same rum and Coke. At least this time the guy could find the rum. When I asked to speak with the owner, I was told the owner wasn’t around and his number couldn’t be given out. When I asked to speak to a manager, they said there was no manager on duty and he would be coming in closer to 10:30 to 11 p.m. I’m sorry, but that close to a college campus, you want a manager around at all times. Even though I had paid $5 at the door for the “all-you-can-drink” special, I had already had all I could take of TD’s — ahem, Knight Lights. Moving on.

Big Boi from Outkast has a solo album coming out this year (hopefully) entitled Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty. Daddy fat sacks released a teaser single last year with Andre 3000 and Raekwon called “Royal Flush” (get that if you don’t have it) but this song is suppose to be the official first single off the new album…
Next up is one of my personal favorites, Gucci Mane, with his ‘new’ single “Stoopid”. I put the quotes around new because this track was actually put out by Gucci’s former record label, Big Cat Records (as you’ll hear them say it at the beginning of the track). Gucci is currently signed to Atlantic Records but he broke his contract with Big Cat to do so and lost the rights to all the material he made on their label. Big Cat did not take this lightly and still continues to put out Gucci albums, singles, etc without anything owed to their former signee. He kills it on this track though, and it was produced by the guy I posted the video of making a beat the other day, Zaytoven.
Remember Tay Dizm? Sure you do, he sang the hit from last year “Beam Me Up” with T-Pain & Rick Ross. Well he is back, this time with Akon on a sure fire song to heat up the clubs/radio.

I am not a huge fan of Ferry Corsten’s brand of Trance, or anyones brand of Trance for that matter, but I do have mad respect for Jeff Kenney and his crew for bringing an electronic music show to Roxy Nightclub. Its been a long time since any electronic music talent stepped foot in that building and hopefully this is a new trend that will continue.
Ferry Corsten will be performing at Roxy on Tuesday, February 24th. Oh and if your in Tampa you can also catch him at The Kennedy the day before that. I only wanted to plug the Kennedy show so I can mention that I, Docta Dawe, will be headlining the Kennedy this Friday the 20th.
