Biggest NYE parties across the county:

Posted by Brian 'Docta' Dawe On December - 31 - 2008

I am going to be DJing a private party in Winter Park tonight, so unfortunately you will not be able to catch a Docta Dawe NYE set this year unless you are one of the invited guests. SOOO I decided to compile a list of the top 5 biggest NYE parties going down all over the county tonight….

Justice NYE set!! This is my top pick for NYE ’09 – if I could be anywhere, this is where it would be….

DJ AM & Travis Barker put on quite the show and this should be no exception. This event is also being broadcasted live in various other venues throughout the country, all together 15,000 people will be hearing the sounds of DJ AM & Travis Barker live tonight.

Samantha Ronson and girlfriend Lindsy Lohan will be at the legendary Mansion in South Beach tonight…

This is semi-interesting, it wouldn’t really appeal to me, but I guess some people will be interested in seeing Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz host NYE at Pure in Vegas. I’m sure this will a celebrity packed event and one of the highlights of NYE in Vegas this year.

Webster Hall is one of New Yorks most prestigeous venues, and this year they have a live performance from Lady Gaga… interesting.

If I left this one out Kaypee would kill me… Sonar in Baltimore is bringing in the New Year with the Wu! featuring Method Man, Rza, Gza, Ghostface, Raekwon, Masta Killa, U-God, Cappadonna & Inspecta Deck.

As far as Orlando NYE parties go, nothing has really stood out. Antigua/Church St. Entertainment is having their huge annual block party with the 50ft Orange ball drop on Church Street, along with a “huge fireworks display”. Knight Klub in the UCF area has been heavily promoting their $15 Open Bar NYE party. Orlando Hip-Hop ledgends Sol.illaquists of Sound will be at The Social tonight…

oh and a little NYE side note via The Orlando Weekly…

“Orlando, Say Bye Bye to: MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Spike, CMT, Pure Country, Logo, Palladia, MTV2, MTV Hits, MTV Jams, MTV Tr3s, Noggin, Nick 2, Nicktoons, Spike, The N, TV Land, VH1, VH1 Classic and VH1 Soul.

Hope you didn’t plan on watching Daily Show or Spongebob … ever again.

Your awesome friends at Bright House (a Time Warner Subsidiary) announced tonight (I’m blogging this past midnight for ya’ll bitches’ info) that it’s all going bye-bye cause Viacom, the mega-corp that owns those channels – Bright House is just the provider that brings Viacom’s product into your home – allegedly asked for “exorbitant” rate increases and the two couldn’t come to terms.

This starts at 12:01 a.m. Jan. 1st, right after the ball drops.

Hope you didn’t plan on planting those out-of-school kids in front of the tube.

And no, they’re not coming back. At least not, like, soon. That’s the wonder and joy of living in a completely de-regulated society of megacorps. It’s the bed we made ourselves so learn to love it.

You can let Bright House know how much you ABSOLUTELY LOVE this situation by calling 1-866-309-3279. Otherwise, time to weigh exactly how much you’re willing to pay DirecTV for the privilege of shit like Bromance.

Good thing I have Comcast!!!
