I don’t know why I am blogging this. Fuck my life.

I forgot to tell you about this in my post yesterday. My mom convinced me to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving day parade on television. Pick up your jaw from the floor. I actually watch TV sometimes. dLux is a bad influence. Anyway, the parade totally rickrolled America!!! I couldn’t get a better gift if I sat on Santa’s lap. Here is the best video you will see all day:

I was so inspired by Kaypee’s previous blog that I decided to do my first video blog ever!! What a great day it has been! Right now I am hearing about the history of Disco from my senior citizen neighbor Anne, as my roommate King interjects saying “Disco is making a huge comeback!” and “40 is the new 20″, even though the rest of our dinner guests are age 50+. My Mom also just figured out that their are “music channels” on our cable TV, so we were actually able to enjoy Disco music throughout our dinner. The only thing missing was Adrian, who didn’t respond to my IMs about joining us for dinner.
Don’t forget tomorrow!!!! HUGE HOUSE PARTY @ THE KING CASTLE!!
Please refer to the previous blog on the subject.
And now I present, the most awkward video blog ever….

I’m home for Thanksgiving. My uncle Louie is here from NY. He lovingly woke me up at 7:30 this morning. “Niecey! I LOVE YOU!” To which I replied, “Funny. Because I really hate you right now.” Well, it turns out the reason he woke me up was to get bagels. On our way to the Bagel Queen/King/Whatever part of the royal bagel family owns the shop, Wu-Tang plays on the iPod. My uncle tells me how he would be a great member of the WU. The RZA, GZA, ODB, Raekwon, Inspectah Deck, UGOD, Ghostface, Method, Masta Killa, and Mighty Whitey. I guess it seems plausible.
Anyway, I could fill this blog with stories about the last few hours, but I don’t feel like getting into it. Camp Kaypee will be hosted by dLux and Docta Dawe tomorrow. Listen in. Scat Chat. 407-823-4585.
I made a video before my grandma’s house became busy.

Also, if there is any doubt of the Puerto Rican background of your homegirl (which it is quite visible from homegirl’s background), look at these pictures from my grandma’s house. She likes themes.
Oldies/Doll theme… I’m not sure which she was going for:

Bathroom… Notice how the fabric garbage can matches the border:

I have 27 more of these pictures including a beautiful collection of fake flowers, but I’ll spare you. Happy Thanksgiving.

So, I was lucky enough to be sent a copy of the new Youngheartz DJ mix. Youngheartz aka Adrian Giannotta is well know in the scene for bringing us the infamous “Carnival” party and for his antics on dance floors all over Orlando… I honestly was expecting a decent mix from this rookie DJ but had no idea that I was in for a mix chalked up with banger after banger, with tight mixes from beginning to end.
Download: DJ Youngheartz – I’ll Miss You Mix (mediafire link)
You can catch DJ Youngheartz along side Ricky Diamond, Kenetica, and DJs Cru Jones & Videoboy December 6th @ Taste!! Don’t Miss that party… Youngheartz will also be making another surprise DJ appearance THIS WEEK! Stay tuned for more info!!

As I sit denying advances from Docta Dawe’s roommate King Kong, I am checking my company e-mail. BAM! Right there, in my inbox, are the flyers for the new Thursday night at Antiqua. YESS! We’ve joined forces with Antigua. Thursday nights are now Stereo Thursday. Featuring the best electro, hipster-hop, open format in Orlando. And it starts next Thursday, December 4th. I’m really fucking excited. My favorite part of Stereo is that the drinks are 3-4-1 until 12! It is the best drink special downtown. 2-4-1 Shots after 12. 2-4-1 bottles in VIP! Did you get that? Go back a read that again. Fuckin’ A.
Use your college ID for something other than checking out books. Oh wait, who goes to the Library anyway? Anyway, bring your ID and get in free before 11:30.

Stolen from Bart Pardy:
“Camp Kaypee is Kaypee’s internet Radio show. If you haven’t listened to it yet, what are you waiting for? It is on from 6-8 pm tonight and every Friday at knightcast.org.
Here’s how to listen in:
1. Type in knightcast.org in your web browser and click “Click to listen” in the “Now Playing” section to the right on the website.
2. You’ll be redirected to Loudcity. Click your preferred Connection speed. Hit Save.
3. On the next page, look at the top and you will see “Launch on of your players.” Click whichever one you use. I use iTunes.
That’s it! It plays over your computer.
Listen to it when you are getting ready to go out! I do and I always love it!”
Shit on my chest.

World famous DJ Darude is going to be at Global House tonight. Global House is the biggest house weekly in Orlando hosted by Jimmy Joslin & B. Random every Tuesday night at Tabu.
“Sandstorm” was a smash hit in Finland, topping the Finnish Single Chart, selling platinum and holding the #1 spot on the Finnish Dance Chart for seventeen consecutive weeks. Word quickly spread about the track, which found global success. After becoming the #3 single in the United Kingdom (becoming the first record by a Finnish artist to do so), “Sandstorm” eventually sold 2 million units worldwide, and was the world’s biggest selling 12-inch record in 2000.
Shortly thereafter, Darude released his debut album, Before the Storm, selling 800,000 copies worldwide, topping the Finnish album charts, and earning him three Finnish Grammy awards. Before the Storm was produced by JS16, and features two of his remixes.
Darude’s second single, “Feel the Beat,” closely followed the success of Sandstorm, reaching #5 on the UK Singles chart.

I have now heard almost every song that is to be on the new Kanye West album “808’s & Heartbreak”. I will never forget the first time I listened to Kanye’s last album, Graduation. I felt it was so ahead of its time. The first few bars of “Good Morning” would put a smile on John McCain’s face the day after the election. I never even fathomed that hip-hop could be so beautiful – “Homecoming”, “Flashing Lights” – If “Graduation” was ahead of its time, then what I have heard from “808’s & Heartbreak” isn’t for planet earth. Kanye West is truly an innovator, and branches out into uncharted territory with this record. You can hear real life heartbreak on this masterpiece. Any hint of his past obnoxious overconfidence is gone, his sound is so genuine and stripped down. He also features Kid Cudi on two tracks, he has called Kid Cudi “The most talented new rapper out”. If S/T lived another month or two, I would have gotten the opportunity to present this artist to our city, well before he exploded onto the national scene in a major mainstream way, but that wasn’t meant to be. I felt almost guilty for not listening to this album as one piece of work. I am still missing three tracks, and have one (Coldest Winter), as a radio rip, which I did not post. 808’s & Heartbreak will be released on November 24th, 2008.
“The entire album is sung by West with the aid of Auto-Tune, aside from one verse by Young Jeezy, a duet with Lil Wayne, additional vocals by Kid Cudi and a freestyle by West at the conclusion of the record. West has stated that he loves using Auto-Tune and is dismayed that the term has been commonly associated with being “wack.” He considers the technology “the funnest thing to use.” West compared the situation to when he was a child and thought the color pink was cool until someone told him “it was gay.” He went on to state how the views of society can rob people of their confidence and self-esteem.”
Check out this detailed article about every track on the album by “The Hip Hop Chronicle UK”.
1. “Say You Will” 6:18
2. “Welcome to Heartbreak” (feat. Kid Cudi) 4:23
3. “Heartless” 3:31
